As filmmakers and commercial creators, the team at Imagine Us was ecstatic to write and fund it's first short film, 'SNICKERDOODLE'. This was an opportunity for us to throw our name in the festival circuit by bringing together a talented set of actors, backed by a psychological narrative story of acceptance and grief. As avid fans of the horror genre, we wanted to create something that was both scary, artistic and slightly twisted.
The Premise: A young grand daughter, played by Hannah Satterlee, goes to visit her loving Nana, played by Joey Jupiter-Levin. As she extends her visit, she realizes that something isn't quite right with Nana, and reaches out to her mother, played by Jennifer Bieler, to try and solve the mystery behind the strange behavior. This 15 minute short film was shot in Los Angeles over the course of two days with the help of Lester C from Van Buren set location.
There were so many factors that went into planning this short during pre-production, from color palette, to set design, final cinematography and rehearsals. Our team worked vigorously to nail our shots and story coverage. We are very excited to edit in post production as we prepare to scout for upcoming festival circuits. Stay tuned as we know this will be one of many short films released in the next year.
Imagine Us is preparing to make a splash in the feature film world, we look forward to bringing more narrative work to life. Filmmaking is very similar to live theatre, which in itself can be a powerful experience to witness on set. Thank you again to the team who made this possible!
